RELIEF OPERATION IN THE CYCLONE HIT COASTAL AREAS OF MAHARASHTRA
Due to the cyclone Nisarg, Over 3,00,000 households in the coastal districts of Raigad and Ratnagiri remained without electricity supply, as the power substations, feeder lines and electricity poles all bore the brunt of the cyclone, and repair work now remains a challenge.
Under the guidance of Govind Dholakia, Once again SRKKF team visited 40 villages of the affected areas and provided 200 food kits, each of 43 kgs comprising of daily essential food items like 15 kg wheat flour, 10 kg rice, 7 kg pulses, 500 gm tea, 3 kg sugar, 1.5 kg dry spices and 5 kg cooking oil.
Along with this, 200 numbers of solar lights were also provided to light up houses and help charge the smart phone batteries. With this, SRKKF reached homes of over 100 SRK family members working at various of its units. Needy families were also sought out and the remaining food packets and lights were distributed amongst them too.
